SCG9889 - Morocco Agencies 1936 – 5 Centimos on 1d Green (King Edward VIII) Surcharge
1 in stock
This British colonial issue for Morocco Agencies features the short-lived portrait of King Edward VIII, originally printed as a 1d definitive in green. Due to local currency requirements, the stamp received a black “5 CENTIMOS” surcharge, along with vertical “MOROCCO / AGENCIES” overprints. Issued shortly before the King’s abdication, these provisional surcharges are prized for their limited period of use and historical significance. The deep green vignette remains crisp, with bold black overprint alignment typical of the issue. A desirable piece for collectors of British Commonwealth, agency posts, Edward VIII, and overprint varieties.
