SCG9606 - Finland – Coat of Arms Definitive with Blue “20” Surcharge (c.1919–1921)
1 in stock
This Finnish definitive stamp features the classic brown Coat of Arms design showing the crowned lion shield, later surcharged in deep blue with four bold “20” numerals. Issued during Finland’s early independence period, these provisional surcharges were applied to older currency stocks to meet changing postal rates. The striking contrast of the blue overprint on the earlier brown issue makes this a desirable variety for surcharge and transitional-period specialists. Well-centered examples with clean overprints are scarce and keenly sought after.
