A striking provisional issue from Iran (Persia), 1925, created during the transitional period following the fall of the Qajar dynasty. This green 2 Chahis definitive of Ahmad Shah Qajar bears a bold black “Provisoire / 1925” (P. re.) overprint in both Latin and Persian scripts, marking emergency postal usage under the new administration. The ornate frame shows Persian floral motifs and the royal emblem, now faint due to the overprint's prominence. Such transitional overprints are prized for documenting Iran’s political shift toward the Pahlavi era. A desirable addition for collectors of Middle Eastern postal history and overprint specialists.
