SCG8935 - Austria 1908 – 35 Heller Franz Joseph I (60th Anniversary of Reign)
1 in stock
This 35-Heller blue stamp was issued by Austria in 1908 to commemorate the 60th year of Emperor Franz Joseph I’s reign (1848–1908). The design features a finely engraved portrait of the emperor framed by an ornate Art-Nouveau border typical of the Jubilee series. The inscription “Kaiserlich-Königliche Österreichische Post” surrounds the portrait, with the year 1848–1908 placed discreetly beside it. Engraved by F. Schirnböck, one of the empire’s premier artisans, the stamp is known for its detailed line work and rich tonal depth. This used example shows a bold circular cancellation, adding postal character and authenticity sought by specialists of the Jubilee issue.
