SCG8837 - Austria – 5 Heller Militärpost Postage Due (c.1915–1917)
1 in stock
A striking Austrian Militärpost postage-due stamp, this 5 Heller issue was produced for the Austro-Hungarian Army Postal Service during World War I. Printed in a vivid carmine-red shade, it features ornate imperial-style ornamentation typical of wartime fiscal and military adhesives. These Portomarke stamps were used to collect deficient postage on military correspondence travelling through field post offices. The bold central “5” and crisp frame design remain popular with collectors specializing in WWI postal history, military mail, and Austrian auxiliary issues. A well-struck circular cancellation adds character and postal authenticity.
