Issued by Mexico in 1974, this 80 centavos airmail stamp honors Felipe Carrillo Puerto (1874–1924), a prominent Mexican revolutionary leader and governor of Yucatán known for his progressive reforms and advocacy for workers' and women's rights. Designed and engraved by S. Pruneda, the stamp features a sepia-toned portrait of Carrillo Puerto, set against a clean white border with vivid green inscriptions highlighting “AEREO MEXICO.” Produced by T.I.E.V. (Talleres de Impresión de Estampillas y Valores), this issue commemorates the centenary of his birth and reflects Mexico’s tribute to social reformers who shaped its modern identity.
