This beautiful 2 centimes stamp from Réunion, a French overseas department in the Indian Ocean, features a lush tropical waterfall scene, symbolizing the island’s dramatic natural beauty. The design captures the essence of Réunion’s volcanic landscape with dense vegetation and cascading water.
It was designed by R. Caulet and engraved by the Institut de Gravure, printed in brown monochrome. Part of the Colonial definitive series of the 1930s, it showcased local scenery to promote the island’s identity within the French colonial empire.
