SCG8173 - Spain – 1972 “Día Mundial del Sello” (World Stamp Day) – Córdoba And.ª Alta Prefilatelic Mark
1 in stock
This Spanish commemorative stamp was issued in 1972 to celebrate World Stamp Day (Día Mundial del Sello). The design reproduces a prefilatelic postal mark from Córdoba, Andalusia, known as “CÓRDOBA AND.ª ALTA,” featuring a crowned emblem printed in red on a beige background. Prefilatelic marks like this were used before adhesive stamps became common, making this issue a tribute to Spain’s early postal history. The stamp was printed by F.N.M.T. (Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre) and had a face value of 2 pesetas.
