1 in stock
This Finnish trio of commemorative stamps honors three notable national figures. The 1969 Johannes Linnankoski issue (0.40 markka, red) marks the centenary of the celebrated author and playwright (1869–1913), symbolized by a rose motif. The 1970 Juho Kusti Paasikivi stamp (0.50 markka, blue) commemorates the centenary of Finland’s seventh president (1870–1956), featuring a sculpted bust design. The third, also from 1970, celebrates Urho Kekkonen’s 70th birthday, depicting the long-serving president in profile on a medal-like engraving framed by blue. Together, they reflect Finland’s respect for statesmen and writers pivotal to its national identity.
