This 2.50 złoty Polish commemorative stamp was issued in 1969 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Labour Organization (ILO), founded in 1919. Designed by Desselberger and printed by PWPW, the stamp features a stylized image of a worker and an anvil, symbolizing labor and industry, set against a deep blue background. Below it appears the ILO emblem in bronze, framed by wheat and a gear—representing peace and progress through labor. The Polish inscription “Międzynarodowa Organizacja Pracy” translates to “International Labour Organization.” This issue honors Poland’s participation in global efforts to promote fair labor standards and workers’ rights.
