This Bulgarian parcel post stamp, denominated 5 leva, features the national coat of arms with the crowned lion, a symbol of royal Bulgaria. The inscription “България” (Bulgaria) appears at the top, while “Колети” (Parcels) and “Пратки” (Packages) flank the design vertically, denoting its use for parcel post services. Printed in emerald green on unwatermarked paper, the stamp belongs to Bulgaria’s early parcel post series (circa 1911–1920s), which served during the reign of Tsar Ferdinand I and later Tsar Boris III. These issues are notable for their bold typography, simple yet elegant heraldic design, and utilitarian role in Bulgaria’s growing postal system.
