SCG7391 - Senegal – Market Scene, 15c (French West Africa, ca. 1914–1933)
1 in stock
This elegant colonial-era stamp was issued under Afrique Occidentale Française (French West Africa) for use in Senegal. It shows a vivid local market scene, capturing traders and villagers in traditional attire — a glimpse of early 20th-century daily life. The image, engraved by A. Mignon after artwork by Delandre, is framed in a striking red and brown design with ornamental motifs typical of the period.
Part of a wider pictorial definitive series used across French West Africa, it represents both ethnographic interest and classic colonial engraving artistry. The 15 centimes denomination was commonly used for local or regional postage within the federation.
