SCG7306 - RSFSR 250 Rubles “Arts and Education” Stamp (1921–1922)
1 in stock
This imperforate 250-ruble stamp was issued by the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) during the early 1920s, amid the post-revolutionary economic turmoil. Printed in deep violet, it features a symbolic composition of a lyre, open book, palette, and hammer, representing culture, education, and labor—the foundations of the new socialist society. The inscription “Р.С.Ф.С.Р.” stands for the RSFSR, the precursor to the USSR. High-denomination issues like this reflected the rampant hyperinflation of the Civil War era, making them key artifacts of early Soviet philately.
