This striking ₛ3.50 Austrian commemorative stamp was issued in 1984 to mark the Niederösterreichische Landesausstellung (Lower Austria Provincial Exhibition) held at Grafenegg Castle. The exhibition’s theme, “From Revolution to the Founding Era” (Von der Revolution zur Gründerzeit), explored Austria’s transformation from the mid-19th century revolutions to the economic expansion of Emperor Franz Joseph’s reign. The stamp’s ornate gold-on-red design, created by W. Pfeiler, features imperial-era motifs and the monogram “FJ” for Franz Joseph, evoking the grandeur of the Habsburg period.
