SCG6960 - Germany (Berlin) 1984 – “Kleines Zweiblatt” (Small Twayblade)
1 in stock
Issued in 1984 by Deutsche Bundespost Berlin as part of the annual “Für die Wohlfahrtspflege” (Welfare) semi-postal series, this 50 + 20 Pfennig stamp features the Kleines Zweiblatt (Listera cordata), known in English as the Small Twayblade. The delicate orchid is shown in full color with detailed line drawings of its flower and seed capsule on either side—a hallmark of the 1980s Berlin welfare flora series, which celebrated native wild plants. The +20 Pf surcharge supported charitable welfare programs. Designed with botanical precision, the issue beautifully combines scientific illustration with philanthropy.
