1 in stock
This 1984 Spanish commemorative stamp celebrates the 800th Anniversary (MC Aniversario) of the founding of the City of Burgos, one of Spain’s most historic medieval centers.
On the left, the design shows the coat of arms of Burgos, featuring a crowned head above castle symbols, symbolizing royal authority and fortified strength. On the right is a finely detailed engraving of the Arco de Santa María, the city’s iconic gate built in the 14th century and later remodeled during the Renaissance.
Issued by Correos España, the stamp was printed by F.N.M.T. (Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre) in brown and blue tones, emphasizing both regal dignity and architectural grandeur.
For collectors, it stands as a tribute to Burgos’ medieval legacy and urban heritage within Spain’s historic series of city commemorations.
