The design captures a cargo vessel passing beneath the bridge’s suspended gondola platform, symbolizing both industrial progress and maritime heritage.
Designed and engraved by Claude Haley, the stamp shows intricate detailing in brown, blue, and black, emphasizing the steel framework of the bridge and the ship’s reflection in the calm waters. The 0.25 franc denomination catered to standard domestic postage rates of the period.
