1 in stock
Issued in 1970 to commemorate the Centenary of Paraguay’s National Epic (1864–1870), this elegant three-stamp series showcases remarkable examples of pre-Columbian ceramics from ancient Mesoamerican cultures. The 0.10 G stamp depicts a “Plumbate” ceramic vessel of Tohil-Veracruz style, known for its glossy surface. The 0.15 G stamp features a phytomorphic vessel from the Colima culture, shaped like plant forms and valued for its sculptural design. The 0.20 G issue presents a zoomorphic vessel from the Mixtec culture, finely decorated with circular motifs. Printed by De La Rue de Colombia, these stamps blend archaeology and artistry, celebrating Latin America’s shared cultural legacy.
