SCG5695 - Sardinia 5c King Victor Emmanuel II – Missing Head Error
1 in stock
This is a 5 centesimi green stamp from the Kingdom of Sardinia, part of the early issues printed between 1855 and 1863 under King Victor Emmanuel II. Normally, this design features the king’s portrait within the oval frame, but in this example the central vignette is completely missing, leaving only the ornate green frame with “FRANCO BOLLO” and denomination “C. CINQUE”. This striking production variety—likely caused by partial printing or omission of the head plate—is a classic printing error highly prized among collectors of Italian States philately.
