Issued in 1963 by Deutsche Bundespost Berlin, this semi-postal set titled Ferienplätze für Berliner Kinder (“Holiday Places for Berlin Children”) was designed by L. Wüst. The four stamps depict different aspects of childhood joy and rest — a boy with a toy dolphin by the sea (40+20 pf), a girl blowing a dandelion in the mountains (20+10 pf), a girl near a traffic light and bus (10+5 pf), and a pensive boy at home (7+3 pf). The surtax from each stamp supported summer holiday programs for Berlin’s children, reflecting the city’s postwar social welfare efforts.
