SCG5599 - East Germany 1980 Youth Stamp Exhibition – Suhl
1 in stock
Issued to commemorate the 6th Youth Philatelic Exhibition held in Suhl in 1980, this East German (DDR) label pair celebrates the spirit of youth stamp collecting. The left label features the Suhl city coat of arms — red brick towers with crossed hammers, symbolizing the town’s mining heritage, and a rooster below. The right label, printed tête-bêche (inverted), carries the youth emblem with the phrase “Unsere Liebe, unsere Treue der DDR” (“Our love, our loyalty to the GDR”). These cinderella stamps were produced for collectors and exhibition attendees, representing the cultural emphasis on philately among GDR youth organizations.
