SCG5296 - Paraguay 1960s – Space Telecommunications Satellites Set
1 in stock
This striking commemorative set from Correo del Paraguay celebrates the pioneering era of satellite communications. Each stamp highlights a different early satellite milestone: Telstar 1 & 2 (experimental communication satellites), Relay 1 & 2 (intercontinental telecom demonstrators), Syncom 1, 2, 3 and Early Bird (synchronous orbit satellites), and Echo 1 & 2, with one stamp paying tribute to John F. Kennedy on the third anniversary of his death. Issued during the 1960s, the series reflects Paraguay’s enthusiasm for modern technology while marking the Centenary of the National Epic (1864–1870). Printed by De La Rue de Colombia and designed by Mosdóssy, the set is popular among collectors for its vivid colors and detailed depictions of historic satellites.
