This pair of stamps was issued by the United Arab Republic (Egypt) in 1958 to mark the Economic Conference for Afro-Asian Countries held in Cairo. Both designs feature a symbolic globe within a cogwheel, flanked by cotton and wheat, representing the union of industry and agriculture. The grid background evokes planning and international cooperation. The brown 10m stamp carries an additional red overprint for the Industrial & Agricultural Production Fair, while the blue 10m version was issued without overprint. These stamps are highly valued by collectors for their historical connection to early Afro-Asian solidarity movements during the Cold War era.
