SCG4838 - Mexico 1909 Revenue Stamp – Control del Talon, 30 Centavos
1 in stock
This is a 1909 Mexican revenue (fiscal) stamp with a face value of 30 centavos, printed in violet. It was issued under the “Control del Talon” system for recording patents, direct accounts, and guides, ensuring that a control stub (talón) remained in the revenue office for accountability. The large bold serial number (16256) at the top provided an additional safeguard against fraud and duplication. Such stamps were not for postal use but strictly for fiscal administration, reflecting the structured revenue collection system of early 20th-century Mexico. Its design is entirely typographic, emphasizing official use, and it often shows cancellations from revenue offices.
