These classic Moroccan issues feature a pastoral scene of a shepherd standing with his flock, set against a rugged landscape of hills and trees. Designed by C. Josso and engraved by Pierre Gandon and Henri Cortot, the series highlights traditional rural life, an important theme in early Moroccan philately under French influence.

  • 30 centimes (blue) – Engraved by Gandon, showing fine detail and soft tones that emphasize the landscape.

  • 40 centimes (brown) – Engraved by Cortot, with deeper shading that adds contrast to the pastoral imagery.

Both values carry inscriptions in French (MAROC) and Arabic, reflecting Morocco’s cultural and linguistic duality. Issued in the mid-20th century, these stamps remain sought after for their craftsmanship, symbolic design, and representation of Morocco’s agrarian traditions.
