SCG4325 - Guatemala 1940 Overprint on 1926 Issue – 1 Centavo de Quetzal
1 in stock
This stamp from Guatemala features the original 1926 design showing the Edificio de Correos y Telégrafos Nacionales (National Post and Telegraph Building) in Guatemala City. The base issue, printed in olive green with the denomination “Un Centavo de Quetzal,” was later overprinted in bold red with the year “1940.” Such overprints were commonly used to revalidate existing stock during transitional postal periods. The stamp also carries a clear cancellation mark, making it a fine example of postal history. Highly collectible, it represents both Guatemala’s architectural pride and practical postal administration of the era.
