SCG4240 - Hanover 1 Groschen Red (1859)
1 in stock
This classic issue from the Kingdom of Hanover features the left-facing profile of King George V in red. The denomination of 1 Groschen is shown above, with “HANNOVER” inscribed at the bottom. The stamp is imperforate, printed in a clean line-engraved style, and bears a bold cancellation in blue-green ink across the portrait. Issued just a few years before Hanover was annexed by Prussia in 1866, this piece is a fine representation of pre-unification German States philately. A highly desirable item for collectors of classic European issues and German States material.
