SCG4199 - Ukraine 1919 – 15 Hryven Symon Petliura Issue
1 in stock
This is a historic 15 Hryven stamp issued by the Ukrainian National Republic (UNR) during its short-lived independence period around 1919. Printed in brown, it features a portrait of Symon Petliura, the Ukrainian statesman and military leader who served as head of the Directory. The stamp bears the Ukrainian trident (Tryzub) national emblem in the corners and the inscription “Пошта Народна Республіка” (People’s Republic Post). High-denomination issues like this were produced in limited runs during the turbulent years of Ukraine’s struggle for sovereignty, making them especially desirable to collectors. Well-centered examples on original gum are highly valued in philatelic circles.
