On the right, the original Bavarian 15 Pfennig coat-of-arms indicium is overprinted with two horizontal bars and “Deutsches Reich,” reflecting the postal unification after Bavaria’s independent postal system was absorbed into the Reichspost in 1920. Next to it is an added 30 Pfennig Germania indicium, printed directly on the card, depicting the allegorical female figure Germania, a widely used motif in German philately of the early 20th century.
