SCG3959 - Württemberg Postal Card – 5 Pfennig Green (1896)
1 in stock
This is an official postal stationery card issued by the Kingdom of Württemberg in the late 19th century. Printed in green, the card bears an imprinted 5 Pfennig indicium, denominated for local correspondence. The front is inscribed “Königreich Württemberg – Postkarte”, with pre-printed address lines.
The card shown was postmarked in Pfullingen (25 September 1897), with a receiving mark from Mylau, Saxony, indicating cross-regional use within the German Empire. The reverse contains a neatly written purple-ink message, typical of the era’s business or personal communications.
Such cards are of interest to collectors of Württemberg postal stationery, German Empire postal history, and late 19th-century inter-German correspondence. Their value often increases when both outgoing and arrival postmarks are present, as in this example.
