SCG3950 - Württemberg 5 Pfennig Reply Postal Card – Königreich Württemberg (c. late 19th century)
1 in stock
This is an official reply postal card (Antwortkarte) issued by the Kingdom of Württemberg, featuring an imprinted 5 Pfennig green stamp at the upper right corner. The design includes the inscription K. Württ. Post with the value Fünf Pfennig enclosed in an ornate frame. Printed in Gothic-style script, the heading reads Königreich Württemberg – Postkarte (Antwort), designating it for return correspondence. The card is addressed in violet ink to the firm Gebrüder Kemm in Reutlingen, a known textile hub in Württemberg during the 19th century.
Postal stationery from Württemberg is highly sought after, as the kingdom maintained a semi-autonomous postal system until its integration into the German Empire in 1902. Reply cards like this are scarcer, since they were often separated from their original counterparts and used individually. This example remains in fine condition, making it a desirable piece of German States postal history.
