SCG3949 - Germany 1876 Postal Card – Deutsche Reichspost
1 in stock
This is an original Deutsche Reichspost postal stationery card, issued in the 1870s. It bears an imprinted 5 Pfennig stamp (lilac-rose) with a numeral design, valid for domestic postcard postage. The card was postmarked in Bielefeld on 8 December 1876 and addressed to Friedrichshafen, as confirmed by the arrival circular date stamp on the front.
The reverse side carries a neatly handwritten message dated the same day, making it a fine example of early German postal correspondence from the Imperial era. Such cards are highly valued by collectors for their clear cancellations, complete addresses, and legible manuscript text, reflecting everyday postal history of the late 19th century.
