SCG3812 - Germany – Postal Card with Mixed Franking (1921)
1 in stock
This German postal card, postmarked Landsberg, 31.1.21, features a mixed franking of two issues from the Deutsches Reich period. The first stamp is the 10 Pfennig green Germania issue, and alongside it is the 30 Pfennig blue numerals issue, together making a 40 Pfennig franking. Such mixed frankings are highly valued by collectors as they illustrate postal rate adjustments in the immediate post-World War I period, during Germany’s early inflation years.
The handwritten message and address add to its historical charm, showing genuine postal use. Two filing holes indicate it was later archived, which is common in correspondence collections from the 1920s. This piece is a fine example of early Weimar Republic postal history, combining both philatelic and social-historical interest.
