1 in stock
This Hungarian miniature sheet was issued in 1986 to honor the memory of the seven astronauts who perished in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster on January 28, 1986. The sheet features a 20 forint stamp depicting the Challenger shuttle launching, surrounded by somber smoke and fire imagery. To the left, the names of the fallen crew—Scobee, Smith, Resnik, McNair, Onizuka, Jarvis, and McAuliffe—are solemnly listed beneath the words “In Memoriam.” Designed by Varga Pál, this issue is both a philatelic tribute and a poignant historical remembrance.
