This Austrian 2 Schilling stamp, issued in 1970, honors composer and choral conductor Thomas Koschat (1845–1914). Known for his popular Carinthian folk songs and male voice choir compositions, Koschat is a celebrated figure in Austrian musical heritage. The deep maroon engraving features a detailed portrait by artist A. Pilch, with engraving by W. Pfeiler. The Carinthian coat of arms appears above the portrait, marking Koschat’s roots in the region.
