SCG2844 - Venezuela 1986 – XI Congreso Venezolano de Ingeniería y Profesiones Afines
1 in stock
This striking pair of Venezuelan stamps was issued in 1986 to commemorate the 11th Venezuelan Congress of Engineering, Architecture, and Allied Professions (XI Congreso Venezolano de Ingeniería, Arquitectura y Profesiones Afines), marking 125 years of the Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela (1861–1986). The designs, by Armitano, feature abstract symbolic drops and a map of Venezuela rendered in halftone against bold red (Bs. 1,55) and blue (Bs. 1,40) backgrounds. The inscription below reads: "El futuro está presente en nuestra creatividad de hoy" (“The future is present in our creativity today”), underscoring the forward-thinking spirit of the professions. These stamps are a fine example of Venezuela’s modernist design in the late 20th century.
