To the right is an image of modern Shevchenkove village (formerly his birthplace), with a smaller inset showing Shevchenko's traditional birthplace hut ("Хата Шевченка"). The Cyrillic inscriptions include his name "Т.Г. Шевченко" and "Почта СССР" (Post of the USSR).
