This 1970 Chilean airmail stamp commemorates the establishment of the Longovilo satellite earth station, the first of its kind in Latin America. Issued by Correos de Chile with a 40 centavos denomination, the design features a large parabolic antenna dish communicating with a satellite in orbit. The station, operated by ENTEL Chile, marked a major milestone in the country's telecommunication development. Printed by Casa de Moneda de Chile, this used stamp holds technological and historical interest for collectors.
