SCG2361 - Tolima, Colombia – 1887 Departmental Issues (1 Cent & 2½ Centavos)
Out of stock
These imperforate stamps were issued in 1887 by the Department of Tolima, part of the United States of Colombia. Featuring the national coat of arms under the inscription "CORREOS DE Lᵉˢ DEL TOLIMA," the left stamp is the 2½ centavos in rose-red, and the right is the 1 centavo in gray. Printed via typography on thin, unwatermarked paper, these early local issues are known for their crude design and are prized by classic Latin American collectors. Their condition and color preservation are remarkable for their age.
