The design depicts the Palazzo Senatorio on Capitoline Hill (Campidoglio) in Rome, the historic location where the treaties were signed on 25 March 1957. The architectural scene symbolizes European cooperation and unity. The set includes two denominations — 40 Lire in brown and 90 Lire in rose — printed by the Italian State Printing Office.
