SCG1797 - Austria 1919 Transition Period Stamps – Eagle Type
1 in stock
These striking stamps were issued in 1919 by the Republic of German-Austria (Deutschösterreich) following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. They feature the powerful imperial eagle and the nation’s new name at the top in bold Gothic script. The 5 heller (gray-green, perforated) and 10 heller (red, imperforate) denominations were part of a definitive series designed by J. Renner, symbolizing national identity during Austria’s turbulent post-war transition. The imperforate 10h is especially desirable among specialists due to limited print runs.
