SCG1073 - Italian East Africa Colonial Soldier
Out of stock
This mint stamp, issued by Italian East Africa (Africa Orientale Italiana)during the Italian colonial period, shows a soldier holding a Roman-style standard topped with the SPQR (Senatus Populusque Romanus) emblem — a symbol of ancient Rome used by the Fascist regime to evoke imperial legacy. The red-toned design reflects propaganda elements of Mussolini’s empire-building in East Africa. The stamp was issued around 1938–1941, during Italy's occupation of Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Italian Somaliland.
